Governance Federation
Network

Decentralized governance intelligence sharing for the AEGIS ecosystem. Publish and subscribe to governance signals — compliance attestations, policy updates, incident notifications, and risk advisories — across an open, federated network.

What is the GFN?

The AEGIS Governance Federation Network is a decentralized system for sharing governance intelligence signals across the AEGIS ecosystem. Unlike centralized governance reporting, the GFN leverages the AT Protocol's federated architecture so no single entity controls the flow of governance information.

Each participant operates their own Personal Data Server (PDS) and publishes governance records using standardized Lexicon schemas. Records propagate through the AT Protocol relay network and are curated by feed generators into actionable intelligence streams.

Federated

No central authority. Each participant controls their own data through their PDS.

Interoperable

Built on AT Protocol with standardized Lexicon schemas for governance records.

🔒

Verifiable

Cryptographic DIDs ensure signal authenticity and participant identity.

How It Works

1

Publish

An AEGIS-governed entity publishes a governance record to their PDS using the standardized Lexicon schemas. Records include signals, attestations, capability declarations, incidents, and policy updates.

2

Relay

The AT Protocol relay network propagates the record across the federation. All records are cryptographically signed by the publishing DID, ensuring tamper-proof provenance.

3

Filter

The AEGIS feed generator subscribes to the firehose and curates governance signals by type and severity into focused intelligence feeds.

4

Consume

Federation participants subscribe to curated feeds or query the firehose directly. Governance signals drive automated compliance monitoring and incident response.

Governance Signals

The GFN defines five core record types via AT Protocol Lexicon schemas, covering the full spectrum of governance intelligence.

Signal com.aegisfederation.governance.signal

Real-time governance intelligence — circumvention attempts, risk alerts, policy violations, anomalies, and advisories with severity classification.

Attestation com.aegisfederation.governance.attestation

Cryptographically signed compliance attestations verifying that an entity meets a specific governance capability set.

Capability com.aegisfederation.governance.capability

Declared capability sets defining permissions, constraints, and risk classifications for AI systems under AEGIS governance.

Incident com.aegisfederation.governance.incident

Governance incident notifications with timeline tracking, affected system enumeration, and status progression.

Policy com.aegisfederation.governance.policy

Policy lifecycle events — new policies, amendments, and deprecations with effective dates and affected capability mappings.

Registration Model

Federation membership follows a trust-based tiered model. All participants are identified by Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs).

Tier 1 — Core Federation

AEGIS-operated PDS instances with full signal publishing rights. These are the authoritative sources of governance intelligence.

  • Full read/write access to all record types
  • Signal authorship is cryptographically verified
  • Operated by AEGIS core infrastructure

Tier 2 — Verified Participants

Organizations that have completed AEGIS governance attestation and operate their own PDS.

  • Publish attestations and capability declarations
  • Receive governance signals and policy updates
  • Participate in incident response coordination

Tier 3 — Observers

Read-only access to governance feeds via the feed generator. No PDS required.

  • Subscribe to curated governance feeds
  • Monitor governance signals and incidents
  • No publishing rights
